Hear us Roar

Jun 16, 2018

Hear how Lori's debut novel was inspired by her mother’s life. It is a LGBTQ-themed historical novel set in the 1930s and 40s about a young woman who struggles to define herself in a world where she does not seem to fit. It was a Foreword INDIES 2017 Book of the Year Awards Winner, and a finalist in the following contests: Self Publishers Review 2017, Golden Crown Literary Society in two categories (Debut and Historical), Women’s Fiction Writers Association (Debut category), and  is a B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree.

Lori worked as a social worker and licensed family therapist in San Francisco before turning to writing. She now lives in Oregon, in the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains, surrounded by forest where hiking trails that weave through the trees follow and cross a creek with crashing waterfalls. Finding solace in nature and in the company of Ponderosa Pines over 100 feet tall, pushing toward old-growth status, she writes stories, putters in her garden and hikes with her rescue dogs.
